Details High-acuity Surgery Trauma floor (Unit 6B) within a large, inner-city Level 1 trauma center Patient population includes spinal, neuro, trauma, and surgical cases, as well as gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia Patient ratio of 5:1 Unit support includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on night shifts ED nurse and admitting unit complete a formal nurse handoff upon patient admission 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week Requires working 4 weekend shifts per month Block scheduling is not available — must be willing to work assigned shifts No on-call requirements Epic EMR required Requirements Active RN license (GA or Compact) required BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or surgical trauma nursing experience required Experience in a large, high-volume hospital environment required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-acuity facilities will not be considered Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced, high-acuity trauma cases Epic EMR proficiency required Additional Information No RTO (time off requests) will be approved during the contract Local candidates are accepted for this position This is a high-intensity, inner-city trauma environment with complex and diverse patient cases American Traveler Job ID P-684569.
