Details Work in a Pediatric Medical unit within an acute care hospital setting Patient population spans newborns to 18 years of age across a wide range of diagnoses — no single specialty focus Respiratory, GI, and other general pediatric medical cases are commonly seen Patients with tracheostomies and home ventilators are part of the caseload Schedule is nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week) Requirements Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required Experience with tracheostomy care and home ventilator management required Broad pediatric nursing experience including respiratory and GI cases strongly preferred Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility preferred Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred English proficiency (speak, read, write) required Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information Provides direct nursing care to a diverse pediatric population with health problems ranging from simple to complex Responsibilities include monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to treatment Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and communicates care plans with patients and families Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association Workers who have previously completed a contract at this facility may extend once, for a maximum total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before returning for a new contract Compliance requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) must be initiated promptly after accepting an offer — this facility enforces strict compliance deadlines with no flexibility on start dates American Traveler Job ID P-679704.
