Details 42-bed Heart Failure/Stroke Unit (5 North) dedicated to patients with neurological and cardiac conditions such as congestive heart failure and acute stroke Patient population includes complex neuro-cardiac diagnoses managed in collaboration with cardiologists and neurologists Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Every other weekend required Holiday coverage required Floating to other units and hospitals required EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required) 13-week contract Requirements Active AL state RN license or Compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or Red Cross), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) required at minimum Minimum 2 years of RN experience (18 months may be considered), with at least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, cardiac, or stroke nursing NURSYS verification required Required documents for consideration: current state or compact RN license, current driver's license, 2 professional references within the last year Additional Information Work alongside a highly skilled nursing team specializing in complex neuro-cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke Timekeeping system: Centricity Solid navy scrubs required Candidates are required to complete an online cardiac exam after accepting an offer — the exam link is time-sensitive Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules; no pre-start HealthStream modules required Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions Parking is available on-site American Traveler Job ID P-681374.
