Details Pediatric Medical unit in a hospital setting at a Level 1 trauma facility Patient population ranges from newborns to 18 years of age across a broad range of diagnoses, including respiratory and GI cases Experience with trach patients and home ventilators is required due to the patient population seen on this unit Day shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week) Requirements Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA-issued certifications only Minimum of 1 year of pediatric nursing experience required Experience with a broad range of pediatric cases, including respiratory, GI, trach care, and home ventilator management Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Full date of birth and full SSN required for consideration Additional Information Responsibilities include administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, obtaining and monitoring physiological data, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures Communicates care plans and discharge instructions with patients and families, and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may return after a 6-month separation period; prior workers are limited to one extension per engagement (26 weeks total) Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon offer acceptance BSN is preferred but not required American Traveler Job ID P-679705.
