Details Position is in a hospital-based PCU with 10 beds and a Level 1 Trauma designation Patients include step-down ICU cases, step-downs from ICU/ER, and diagnoses such as respiratory failure, renal failure, sepsis, DKA, stroke, and ARDS Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:3-4 CNA support is available during each shift Uses EMR: Epic; IV pumps: Alaris; med dispensing: Pyxis; monitors: Phillips Night shift is 7p-7a, 12 hours, with a 6-week schedule cycle Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule and 75% of major holidays Floating to other PCU units is required Requirements Active GA or compact RN license Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required At least two years of recent PCU RN experience Must pass an EKG competency exam Experience with trach care, chest tubes, heparin and insulin drips, and management of invasive lines required Epic EMR experience preferred CCRN preferred but not required Additional Information Typical duties include bedside monitoring, management of various drips, invasive lines, and assisting with or managing bedside procedures Team support includes 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalists, intensivists, and CNA coverage Navy scrubs are required for RNs One day facility orientation and two days departmental orientation provided Unit culture is fast-paced and team-oriented First-time travelers will be considered Free parking is available on campus RTO requests require manager approval American Traveler Job ID P-662319.
