Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/13/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Apr 13, 2026 Length: 12 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring Epic proficiency and a willingness to float across multiple Med-Surg and PCU units. Details Hospital-based position floating across all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the facility Adult to geriatric patient population covering all potential MS, MS/Tele, and PCU diagnoses Patient ratios: 1:4–5 on PCU; 1:5–6 on MS and MS/Tele units Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) Floating to all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units is required Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends over a 13-week contract) No on-call requirements EMR: Epic (required); Pyxis and SBAR communication protocol also used 12-week contract Requirements Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Epic experience required Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted Navy blue scrubs required RTO maximum of 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12) Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted day shift schedule is firm Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration American Traveler Job ID P-683512.
