Details Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching hospital, and Magnet-designated facility with 820 staffed beds Main OR department with 21 suites covering all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics RNs are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures Nursing team consists of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM Up to one weekend shift required every 4 weeks No on-call requirements Floating within scope to meet facility needs or between sister facilities may be required Charting via Epic Requirements Active SC RN license or multi-state compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered AHA certifications required: BLS Radiation badge required (provided by agency) Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience strongly preferred Level I Trauma Center experience required Scrub experience strongly preferred Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration SSN and Driver's License required for consideration Additional Information Busy, nurse-driven OR environment offering cutting-edge technology and a wide range of surgical specialties Scrubs are provided by the facility Orientation modules are completed prior to start date Travelers must work at least one holiday period; covered holidays include Christmas (Dec 24–26) and New Year's (Dec 31–Jan 1) All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September First-time travelers are accepted for this position American Traveler Job ID P-686664.
