Details Post Surgical PACU unit in a hospital setting Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric post-surgical patients Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts per week with variable start times between 0930 and 1200 13-week contract with potential for temp-to-perm conversion Requirements Active RN license in TX or via compact state Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certifications required — all must be AHA-issued and unexpired Minimum 1 year of PACU or related nursing specialty experience Critical care experience required BSN preferred Perioperative RN Residency or recent OR/Perioperative experience preferred SS Card required — Canadian SIN not accepted 2 professional references required for consideration Additional Information Provides nursing care using the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side-effects and effectiveness Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families Educates patients, family members, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed during onboarding Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates — local candidates are not accepted on this position American Traveler Job ID P-683186.
