Details Acute care hospital setting, OB/L&D unit with a Level 3 trauma designation Patient population includes postpartum, stable antepartum, newborns, GYN, med-surg overflow, and SCN patients Average census: 5 mom/baby couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 labor, and 4 SCN patients Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN standards: 1:3 mom/baby couplets, 1:5 GYN/med-surg, 1:3–4 pediatrics Support staff include a ward clerk (0700–1900), CNA (Tue–Thu), Charge Nurse/Circulator, Resource Nurse, and LPN Scrub Nurse — all without patient assignments EMR: Epic (OneChart); Epic experience required, other EMR experience considered Equipment used includes Omnicell, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medela Breast Pumps, Responder 5 Call Light System, and Medfusion Pumps 12-hour day/night rotating shifts Every 3rd weekend required Rotating holiday coverage required Floating required as needed — primarily as helping hands, but must be willing to take a med-surg patient and float to Med-Surg and Tele as needed Requirements Active MN RN license required Active certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NRP; PALS preferred Minimum 2 years of OB/L&D experience required Postpartum experience required Ability to work in both Labor and Postpartum settings required Epic EMR experience strongly preferred 2 references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the position's specialty within the last 3 years All certifications and licenses must be active at time of consideration — no pending certifications accepted Additional Information Responsibilities include caring for postpartum, antepartum, newborn, GYN, and med-surg overflow patients, and serving as 2nd RN in the SCN as needed Ability to circulate in L&D is a plus Unit and equipment orientation provided on the first day All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility Scrub color: Navy Blue Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their consideration date Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are subject to a reduced pay rate A manager interview will be conducted prior to any offer being extended American Traveler Job ID P-686488.
