Details High-risk Labor & Delivery unit within a 317-bed acute care teaching hospital (Level 3 Trauma) Patient ratio is 1:1 Day/night rotation with 12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30 days, 19:00–7:30 nights) Every other weekend required Floating required to postpartum as needed No on-call required Facility delivers approximately 200–300 births per month Charting system: Epic (Excellian) — experience required Procedures performed include cesarean births, postpartum tubal ligations (PPTL), D&C, cerclage placement and removal, and waterbirths Patient population includes high-risk antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, preterm labor, multiple gestation, VBAC, and more Requirements Active MN RN license required (pending license will be accepted) Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required Required certifications: BLS and NRP Preferred certifications: AWHONN Intermediate and FHM Epic/Excellian EMR experience required Experience with high-risk obstetric patient populations required 1 supervisor reference required for consideration Fingerprinting required (Minnesota state requirement — LiveScan) Additional Information Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, fetal monitoring (internal and external), amnioinfusion, hemorrhage/shock management, neonatal resuscitation, and postpartum care Skills utilized include magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, epidural anesthesia support, IV therapy, blood product administration, and use of EFM/IUPC Pre-start modules are required and must be completed before the first day of the assignment Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position RTO of no more than 5 days is preferred for this assignment Scrubs are provided by the unit First-time travelers are welcome to apply Block scheduling is not available for this position American Traveler Job ID P-674787.
