Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/20/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, flexible Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Variable, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Apr 20, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 4 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - ICU for a 13-week travel assignment in a rural, culturally diverse community health center in Northwestern Arizona, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience and an active AZ or compact RN license. Details ICU position within a JCAHO-accredited regional health center serving a 4,400 sq. mile area, including the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute communities 5-bed ICU unit caring for critically ill patients of all ages After-hours recovery of post-op general surgery, pediatric, and OB patients as needed Floating to ED, Med/Surg, or Peds may be required during low census All shifts available (days, evenings, nights) 13-week contract Requirements Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required PALS (American Heart Association) required — may be completed within 6 months of hire NIHSS certification required — may be completed within 6 months of hire Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) required — may be completed within 6 months of hire SSN required for consideration Additional Information Provides nursing care to critically ill patients following physicians' orders, standards of care, and hospital policies and procedures Staff of medical providers includes surgeons, internal medicine specialists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, OB/GYN, ENT, orthopedic surgeons, and more, supporting a comprehensive care team Facility is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau Shared contractor housing is available but not guaranteed — no pets or family members permitted in housing A housing application must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the assignment start date Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form Orientation runs on a bi-weekly cycle American Traveler Job ID P-685227.
