Details Cardiothoracic ICU (CTVICU) setting within a Level I Trauma, acute care teaching hospital with 554 staffed beds Patient population includes post-op open heart surgery, CABG, aortic aneurysm repair/dissection, fem-pop bypass, pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, endovascular repair, heart failure, MODS, and sepsis Patient ratio of 1:2 Specialized procedures include post-op open heart care, bedside tracheostomy/PEG placement, bedside surgical procedures, CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines, CVCs, chest tubes, Foley insertion, and NG tubes Equipment used includes CRRT, Hemosphere, Bladderscanner, Cortrak, ultrasound, Philips monitors, Impella, IABP, ECMO, ZOLL, Dopplers, GlideScope, pupilometer, Blanketrol, Arctic Sun, Belmont, and BairHugger Charting performed in Cerner Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Weekend availability required as needed No on-call requirement May be floated to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED (for admitted patients), or PACU (for admitted patients) within scope Requirements Active NM or Compact RN license required Current certifications: BLS and ACLS Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with cardiothoracic ICU experience strongly preferred Proficiency with advanced cardiac devices including ECMO, IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz catheters required Experience with CRRT required Cerner EMR experience preferred COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with completed exemption form signed by a provider Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Pending NM license accepted Scrub color required: black Free parking available on-site RTO requests exceeding 7 days require prior approval; all scheduling requests should be submitted at the time of application Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached a one-year mark at this facility are required to take a 6-month break before returning American Traveler Job ID P-681647.
