We serve individuals in private residences, public schools, respite facilities, emergency placements, community work sites, training centers, supervised living arrangements, and our own state-licensed group homes.
High Level Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to ensure that the individuals served receive premium nursing services from the agencies programs, while reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Nursing Services. This position is a full-time, 40-hour position Monday-Friday, and nursing on-call rotation, located at our Naugatuck office, and time is also spent at the residential facilities in the Greater Waterbury area. Salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
Job Responsibilities:
Nursing:
- Ensure agency compliance with all required documentation and nursing delegation to unlicensed personnel
- Provide direct and indirect nursing oversight and compliance for Individuals
- Review medical charts, physician’s notes, prescriptions, orders and MAR’s
- Participate in weekly psychiatric appointments and all IP and Bi-annual meetings
- Resolves individual’s problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
- Protects individuals and employees by adhering to HIPAA, infection-control policies and protocols, OSHA, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations, as well as other DDS/DCF policies and procedures or regulations needed to ensure safety protocols
- Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Ensures operation of medical equipment, maintaining inventories of equipment and evaluating new equipment and techniques
- Other relative nursing duties as required
Training / Training Program Support:
- Complete on-site practicum process as identified by in the DDS Medication Regulation
- Conduct DDS medication administration certifications program classes and other trainings
- Train staff members to maintain and utilize all medical supplies and inventory and evaluation of equipment
- Provide training to Direct Support Professional’s in relation to nursing responsibilities/oversight
- Other relative training duties as needed
Other:

- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
