Our Oncology Service line is looking for a full time Medical Assistant to assist with New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJCEED) cancer screenings. The hours will primarily 8am - 4pm, though there will be occasional night and weekend (Saturday) screenings.
Facilitate timely coordination of appointments, tests, and procedures to expedite the plan of care and to facilitate communication among members
Meet performance patients with both abnormal and normal screening results. Notification of screening and diagnostic test results to patients, both positive and negative via mail as well as phone call notifications for results.
Establish procedures and assurance documentation designed to meet the requirements of the NJCEED from the time of enrollment, through screening, follow-up of abnormal and treatment
Start the presumptive Medicaid application for women diagnosed with breast and/or cervical cancer. Assist with necessary paperwork to get patient full Medicaid coverage for treatment. For undocumented patients, provide the Charity Care application and referral to the financial department.
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
National Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Preferred:
Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
1 year of experience in Health Care services.
