Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • Work night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • Weekend requirements include 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule (Saturday, Sunday, Saturday) • Patient ratios of 1:3-4 (stepdown assignments are 1:3, combo assignments are 1:4) • Must have strong Med-Surg stepdown experience and ability to titrate drips • Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips • Care for post-surgical thoracic and medicine patients on a 32-bed unit • Titrate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitro, Esmolol, Heparin, and Lasix • Interpret and chart patient rhythm with assessments every 4 hours or more frequently with medication titration • Work with telemetry monitoring equipment and BiPap devices • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS • Royal blue scrubs required • 3 shifts of unit orientation provided • EPIC charting system • Floating requirements are very rare • No call or standby requirements • Holiday work required as needed • Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract Facility: This major academic medical center provides comprehensive healthcare services with a focus on advanced medical and surgical care.
