Details Acute care hospital telemetry setting, working across two pooled telemetry floors (3rd and 7th) 3rd Floor has 20 beds with a cardiac focus: post-op open heart, TAVRs, ablations, post-caths, pacemakers, and med-tele patients; 7th Floor has 35 beds with general tele patients including CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, and post-stroke Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 CNAs on both floors: 3 on the 3rd floor and 5 on the 7th floor (typical CNA-to-patient ratio of 1:8) RNs are required to read and interpret telemetry strips 2x per shift; remote tele techs are located on the 3rd floor RNs may titrate Heparin and (rarely) Insulin drips; set-rate drips include cardiac gtts, amiodarone, Cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine RT is available on each floor and manages high-flow, BiPAP, and CPAP; RNs may be asked to assist Charting via Epic (experience preferred) 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a 5–6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; nights cover Friday/Saturday Travelers are first to float and may be floated to any MS, MS-Tele, or Tele unit within the hospital or to sister facilities in Meridian and Nampa Schedule is made 6 weeks at a time; travelers are expected to remain flexible to fill scheduling gaps; block scheduling is not available and max consecutive shifts is 5 Requirements Active Idaho RN license or compact RN license required (must be active at time of consideration; pending licensure not accepted) Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (active copies required; pending certifications not accepted) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Post-procedural cardiac experience required (cath lab, ablations, open heart) Ability to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips required PCU and step-down experience preferred Two professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Valid driver's license required for consideration Additional Information Travelers rotate between the 3rd and 7th floor telemetry units to cover shared staffing needs Orientation consists of 2 shifts: one on the 3rd floor and one on the 7th floor Charge nurses are present on each unit and do not typically carry a patient assignment; crisis and resource nurses are also available in-house Holiday coverage may be required, though travelers would not be expected to work every holiday Any color scrubs are acceptable Prior travel nursing experience is preferred but not required Former permanent employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted This is a traveler-friendly facility where leadership treats travelers on par with permanent staff, with a strong track record of contract extensions American Traveler Job ID P-684278.
