Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Apr 6, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 4 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Medical Telemetry (7 Tele) night shift position in Joplin, MO, requiring 2 years of stepdown or ICU experience and active MO or compact RN license. Details Cardiac Medical Telemetry unit (7 Tele) in an acute care hospital setting Patient population includes post-cardiac cath, AFib, CHF, stable MI, post-heart cath with interventions, pacemaker insertions, non-titrated cardiac drips, and general medical overflow patients Patient ratio of 1:6 Equipment includes IV pumps, computers, glucometer, and GE monitoring equipment EMR: Epic Night shift, 3x12, 19:00–07:30 Every other weekend required Rotating holiday coverage required Float requirements as determined by the facility On-call requirements as determined by the facility Requirements Active MO or compact RN license required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled Minimum 2 years of stepdown or ICU experience in an acute care hospital Proficiency with insulin drips, Precedex, titrating nitroglycerin, Cardizem, and BiPAP required Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted) No gaps in employment of 90 days within the past 12 months Additional Information Experience with post-op surgical patients and trauma cases is preferred, as the unit accepts these patient types Strong teamwork, flexibility, dependability, and a hardworking attitude are important qualities for this role Black scrubs or M-wear are required; no other scrub colors are permitted Flu vaccination is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; exemptions must be approved by the facility RTO of up to 5 days is permitted but must be made up during the assignment Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but receive a reduced bill rate The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and Level 2 STEMI Center American Traveler Job ID P-682514.
