Details Acute care hospital Step Down Unit (SDU) setting with 233 staffed beds Patient ratio of 1:4 Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30) Every other weekend requirement: Saturday and Sunday for day shift Floating required to lower-acuity floors as needed Block scheduling is not available Charting via Epic (experience required) No on-call responsibilities Free parking on-site Requirements Active MO RN license or compact RN license required; IL candidates may apply with a pending IL license Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Must have been actively working at the bedside within the last 6 months Proficiency required with titration of vasopressors, sedation medications, and insulin drips Experience required with trach/vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes Epic EMR experience required Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information Navy scrubs required First-time travelers are not eligible for this position Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Travelers may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation American Traveler Job ID P-685328.
