A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • 2 years of nursing experience required with full year of in-specialty experience within past 12 months • Travel experience required • Patient ratio of 5:1 for both days and nights • 8 weekend shifts required in 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday) • Regular floating required between departments, units and facilities as needed • Must hold both Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license • Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS • Epic charting system experience required • Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13 weeks • Maximum 7 days request time off allowed • Required skills include MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code team usage • Must be proficient in feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), peripheral and PICC line management, IV insertion and maintenance • Experience required with epidural analgesia, PCA, surgical drains, chest tubes, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac • Care for patients post bariatric surgery, urology cases, hepatobiliary procedures, colorectal surgeries, and trauma patients • Manage complex pain control including epidural, PCA, ketamine drips, and lidocaine infusions • Handle multiple drain types and wound vac changes • Serve adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients • No on-call requirements • Locals within 75 miles not accepted Facility: This healthcare facility operates a specialized stepdown unit focusing on complex surgical patients requiring intermediate-level care.
