Details High-acuity SICU setting within a large medical center Patient population includes general post-op surgical recovery, transplant recovery (liver, heart, lungs, kidney, pancreas), and patients requiring CVICU-level care including post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, and aortic dissection Patient ratio of 1:2 Floating required to other ICUs and Step-Down Units (SDUs) Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) Epic EMR experience required Experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps preferred Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Experience with IABP and PA catheters in a CVICU context Requirements Active Louisiana RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum prior high-acuity ICU experience required Epic EMR proficiency required Must reside 65 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Additional Information Provides post-operative and critical care to high-acuity surgical and transplant patients Block scheduling requests are not accepted Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process In the event of a declared emergency, travelers may be assigned to an Emergency Team and expected to remain on-site until the event passes or serve as part of a relief team By accepting this assignment, candidates acknowledge and agree to report as directed by their unit manager during emergency events American Traveler Job ID P-686935.
