Job Details Estimated Weekly Pay: $1840–$1940/week Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama (35401) — Tuscaloosa healthcare and Alabama nursing jobs Setting: Renal Unit, Med/Surg Telemetry (dialysis nursing, post-hemodialysis care) Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse — On-site Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 12, 2026) Shift: 12-hour days (07:00–19:00), every other weekend; holidays as required Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed Dress Code: Solid Navy scrubs Parking: Available EMR: Meditech (experience preferred) Qualifications / Job Requirements Associate Degree in Nursing required (ADN) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact RN license (no temporary licenses) AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience; candidates with 18 months total RN experience considered Experience with dialysis patients (hemodialysis/post-hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) preferred Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed — flexibility required Responsibilities — Med/Surg Tele RN / Dialysis Nursing Provide Med/Surg Telemetry nursing care for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, including post-hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis support Manage telemetry monitoring, assess cardiac and renal-related changes, and escalate to nephrologists or hospitalists as appropriate Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in the Med/Surg Telemetry Renal Unit Collaborate with nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists to develop and implement care plans Support patients through diagnosis, dialysis treatment, and recovery; provide patient education on renal disease and treatment plans Float to other units and affiliated hospitals as required; work every other weekend and holidays as needed Why apply: This travel nursing job offers hands-on experience in renal and telemetry care, exposure to Meditech EMR, and the chance to work with a multidisciplinary nephrology team.
