Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Bone Marrow Transplant Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Bone Marrow Job Details: • Work in 40-bed bone marrow transplant unit (20 beds on each floor) • Target patient ratio 1:3, stretch ratio 1:4 depending on staffing • Must have oncology experience and chemotherapy certification • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ONS chemo certification • BMT experience preferred • Must be competent to administer chemotherapy • Ability to read telemetry and monitor simple titration of drips preferred • Oncology and PCU level of care experience required • Excellent assessment skills needed • Must perform bedside shift reports and safety rounds • Required to rotate weekends • Travelers float first according to floating policy • Dress code: Royal blue scrubs required • Use Meditech documentation system • Work with bedside monitors, bedside computers, and lift assist devices • Participate in manage team up and no pass zone protocols • May assist with infrequent bone marrow biopsies • Unit has HUC Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM, 2 PCTs on AM shift, 1 PCT on PM shift Facility: This healthcare facility features a specialized bone marrow transplant unit that has received five-time accreditation by FACT. The facility performs both autologous and allogeneic transplants, including related, unrelated, haplo-match and mismatch donors, as well as CAR-T therapies.
