Details Works in the IMC Cardiovascular unit of an acute care hospital setting Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients (not a stepdown unit) Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Every other weekend required No on-call requirements 13-week contract with the possibility of temp-to-perm conversion Requirements Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state license currently in hand Current BLS certification from the AHA required Current ACLS certification from the AHA required Minimum 1 year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty BSN preferred US Social Security Number required for consideration Additional Information Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families Educates patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and available resources All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted on this position American Traveler Job ID P-686138.
