Details Position is based in a hospital Medicine Step Down unit 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week) 13-week contract Requirements Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA); all certifications must be AHA-issued Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required Med/Surg and Step Down experience required Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services Effective verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills Basic computer skills required Additional Information Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may reapply after a 6-month separation period Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products, and performs patient assessments Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders Assists physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions Delegates tasks to support staff and coordinates referrals to appropriate personnel BSN from a board-approved program is preferred American Traveler Job ID P-686619.
