Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Tele Job Details: • Provide direct nursing care for patients of all age/developmental stages using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation • Manage care of assigned patients with 5:1 patient ratios for days, nights, and weekends • Direct activities of ancillary staff and demonstrate leadership skills through charge nurse functions • Work with patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics on a 24-bed unit with daily census of 17 • Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, COPD, diabetes, CVA, pneumonia, sepsis, and post-surgical conditions • Self-scheduling with weekend coverage required and call depending on census • 36 hours of orientation provided with one pre-approved time off request allowed • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required • Required certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS (must be AHA certified) • California RN license required at time of submission • Epic charting system experience preferred • Skills required include telemetry monitoring, accessing/managing ports, phlebotomy, PCA management, total joint replacement care, arterial blood gas interpretation, tracheostomy care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line care, IV management, heparin protocols, wound care, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, and isolation precautions • Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing • 7-year work history verification required • Background check disclosure required prior to submission Facility: This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive medical surgical telemetry unit that provides care for patients across all age groups.
