Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Tele Job Details: • Work on a 25-bed medical surgical telemetry unit • Care for neurosurgery, craniectomy, and orthopedic patients • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 • Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran • Work every 3rd weekend • 16-hour needs-based orientation • Navy blue scrubs required • 24 months of medical surgical experience in hospital setting required • Neurology/neurosurgery/craniectomy care experience required • Orthopedic care experience required • Trauma care experience highly preferred • Must have completed at least one travel assignment in previous 12 months • EPIC EMR experience required • Drip experience required: Heparin, PCA, 3% Sodium (no titration) • Specialty equipment experience highly preferred: telemetry, lift equipment, chest tubes, airvo • EKG/strip reading and telemetry experience required • De-escalation certificate highly preferred (CPI, MOAB, MAB, or SAMA accepted) • Trauma Level I experience highly preferred • Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS, NIHSS preferred • Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required Facility: This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive medical center system with multiple campuses providing advanced medical and surgical services.
