A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hours per week options • Patient ratio of 1:3-4 patients • Every other weekend requirement • Float to sister ICCU unit as needed • 13-week contract duration • 2 years of nursing experience required • Must have strong drip experience and arterial line management skills • Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH • Must pass EKG testing prior to start • Experience required with vasoactive drips titration, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management • Skills needed: IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, heparin protocols • Must be comfortable with chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management • Work with ICU stepdown patients including post-op surgical patients, respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, GI bleeds • Manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine • Use Epic charting system and Pyxis medication dispensing • Hospital orientation required first week with daily classes • Scrubs: Navy, White or combination of both • Maximum 7 days RTO allowed and must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week Facility: This healthcare facility operates a progressive care unit that functions more like an ICU stepdown environment. The 20-bed unit maintains an average daily census of 18 patients and specializes in caring for post-rapid response patients and those requiring intermediate-level monitoring. The facility utilizes advanced telemetry monitoring systems and provides comprehensive support services including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
