Details Night shift position, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, in a Progressive Care/Clinical Decision Unit (PCU/CDU) 20-bed inpatient overflow unit with a mixed level of care, including medical-surgical and step-down patients Primarily serves short-stay patients with a length of stay under 24 hours, with high patient turnover Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 depending on level of care All patients with telemetry indications are hardwired to bedside monitors EMR: Cerner Every other weekend required; no on-call responsibilities Travelers may be required to float to other units as needed Requirements Active NC or Compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment) NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for PCU RNs Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in progressive care or a related specialty Telemetry competency required Progressive care experience required; recent progressive care experience preferred US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Unit staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, and 2 CNAs per shift Candidates should have a positive, patient-focused attitude and work well in a team environment Scrub color: navy and/or white top, navy bottom, or all white Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible One professional reference required (candidates from Florida or Missouri require two references American Traveler Job ID P-675229.
