A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - PCU Stepdown Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM • Patient ratios of 1:4-5 for both day and night shifts • Required to work every other weekend • Minimum of 2 holidays required within contract timeframe • Floating requirements to MedSurg or ICU to take PCU acuity patients • Must pass open book exam during orientation with 90% or higher score • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS • Must be competent with arterial lines • Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin • Responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips • Navy blue scrubs required • One day of unit-specific orientation provided • Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities • Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination • Driver's license required at submittal • If placed on call and called back, must arrive within 30 minutes • Care for adult patients with cardiac medical/surgical conditions, dialysis, cancer, vascular issues, sepsis, respiratory conditions, stroke, post-stent, and post-pacer placement • Work with overhead lifts, portable lifts, vein finders, and bladder scanners • Chart in EPIC system • Serve diverse cultural populations including Hispanic and Somalian patients Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit with an average daily census of 24 patients. The facility maintains Level 2 trauma designation and provides acute care services. The PCU focuses on delivering high-quality patient care with emphasis on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and medication communication. The unit is equipped with modern technology including overhead lifts in half the rooms and various medical equipment to support comprehensive patient care.
