Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required • Previous charge experience required with $3.00 charge pay differential per hour • Must be flexible with weekend requirements - able to work 50% of weekends in contract • Patient ratio of 1:3-4 (rarely 5 during emergencies) • 24-bed Progressive Care Unit • Floating required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at University and Methodist Hospitals • Must be willing to precept students and nursing staff as this is a teaching facility • Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS • Skillset requirements: Telemetry, proficient neuro experience, management of drips • Preferred skills: Conscious sedation and Level 1 trauma experience • Care for patients with CVAs, hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, TBIs, trauma patients, and post-surgical patients • Must work with Cerner charting system • Call-in policy: Make up missed shifts during pay period or add to end of contract • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) • First time travelers accepted • Local Indiana residents not accepted for this position Facility: This major academic medical center serves as a teaching hospital providing comprehensive healthcare services including advanced neuroscience care.
