Details Hospital-based PCU Float position covering all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the facility Adult to geriatric patient population with general MS, MS/Tele, and PCU diagnoses Patient ratios: 1:4–5 on PCU; 1:5–6 on MS and MS/Tele units Floating required across all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends over a 13-week contract) No on-call responsibilities EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework 12-week contract Requirements Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Epic proficiency required Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) strongly preferred Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted Navy blue scrubs required RTO maximum of 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment RTO blackout dates apply for Spring Break (April 4–12) Holiday coverage policy: travelers are expected to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period if one or two occur; if three occur, travelers must work two and may request one holiday off — Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a travel nurse No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted — the posted shift is firm Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit American Traveler Job ID P-683513.
