Travel PICU Registered Nurse - $2,786 per week

A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - PICU Job Details: • Work 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) or night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) • Day/night rotating shift schedule available • Minimum 2 full weekends (Friday-Sunday) required per month • Weekend requirement: 2 weekends in a 4-week schedule • Holiday work expected as part of permanent staff holiday rotation schedule • ICU patient ratios 1:1-2, step-down ratios 1:3 • 2 years of PICU experience required (hard requirement) • Must be comfortable taking adult patients if needed • Required certifications: BLS, PALS • Floating required within children's units (L&D, NICU, Acute Peds) • Titrate drips including sedation protocols and vasoactive drugs with doctor's orders • Common drips: sedation (Fentanyl, Versed, Precedex), vasoactive drugs, TPN, MIVF • Care for patients with congenital heart conditions, DKA, respiratory issues, neurosurgery, tracheostomies, ventilators, G-tubes • Work with 20 total beds with average daily census of 15 patients • Dress code: dark gray (pewter) scrubs • Orientation includes EPIC training, NSO, competencies, equipment review, and 3 shifts with mentor • EPIC charting system • 2 shift cancellation policy per 13-week contract • No call requirements Facility: This children's hospital specializes in pediatric intensive care with a comprehensive Congenital Heart Program and serves as a women's and children's hospital. The facility maintains a 20-bed PICU with 24/7 in-house pediatrician coverage, residents, and advanced practice providers. The unit is equipped with advanced technology including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP managed by respiratory therapy, and central monitoring systems with off-unit telemetry monitoring.
