Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Pediatrics OR - Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/02/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 5x8hrs Hours: 40 hrs/wk Start Date: Apr 2, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Pediatric Operating Room position at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and prior travel nursing experience. Details Pediatric OR unit serving patients from newborn to 17 years of age in a 30-bed operating room at a short-term acute care hospital Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU; major academic teaching hospital and member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH) Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 3:15 PM) Self-scheduling with rotating on-call duties on some weeknights and weekends Charting via Cerner; Accudose also in use No floating to sister facilities Free on-site parking available for travelers Requirements Active WV RN license or compact RN license required; WV pending license accepted at time of consideration but must be active prior to start Current BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 2 years specifically in OR nursing Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered Experience in both scrubbing and circulating required Pediatric OR and general OR experience required Experience in a pediatric clinical setting required Candidate must have a permanent address at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical or allergist documentation required for exemption Additional Information Perform both scrub and circulator roles in a pediatric OR setting Experience in women's specialty care and/or robotic surgery is highly preferred IV start experience is preferred Schedule cannot be blocked and must meet the needs of the unit Schedule flexibility is appreciated; if time off is requested during the assignment, extending the contract by equivalent time is encouraged Former permanent employees of this health system must have a gap of at least 2 years from their last day of permanent employment before being eligible to return as a traveler Bright blue scrubs required COVID vaccine is not required American Traveler Job ID P-681007.
