Details Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on the 3 West floor of a hospital in Birmingham, AL Cardiac telemetry patient population including post-CABG, post-cath, chest pain, and CHF patients Patient ratio of 4–5:1 on a 41-bed unit Required skills include telemetry monitoring and management of cardiac drips Equipment used includes Alaris pumps and Omnicell EMR: Epic (experience required) Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (19:00–07:00) Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Occasional floating to like units required 13-week contract Requirements Active AL or Compact RN license currently in hand Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (American Red Cross certifications are not accepted) Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/cardiac telemetry nursing experience Experience with cardiac drips required NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required at time of consideration — only AHA is accepted Skills checklist for the PCU specialty area required Additional Information SSN and DOB required for consideration Provide care for cardiac telemetry patients, including those recovering from CABG, cardiac catheterization, and managing CHF and chest pain presentations Navy scrubs required; no fleece attire permitted and facility fingernail policy must be followed Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal and professional qualities American Traveler Job ID P-678941.
