A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work 36/36 schedule with rotating weekends and rotating holidays • No call requirements • Self-scheduling available • Patient ratios of 5:1 during days, nights, and weekends • Must float to MS with 1:7 ratio when needed • Work with adult and geriatric patient populations • Care for patients with cardiac-related diagnoses, ICU downgrades, and stroke overflow • Perform special procedures including catheterizations, stress tests, and TEEs • Use special equipment including bladder scanners, EKG machines, and vein finders • Work in team nursing model • Participate in nursing student support and clinical education • Required certifications: AHA BLS, NIH, AHA ACLS • Skills required: Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac drip management, airway management, and isolation precautions • 1 year of experience required, accepts first-time travelers • Charge experience preferred • Must live 100 miles from facility • 24 hours of orientation with 16 hours non-billable • Epic charting system experience preferred Facility: This medical center features a 38-bed PCU unit with a daily census of 37 patients, providing comprehensive cardiac care and step-down services. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. The organization emphasizes nursing education and requires contract staff to actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education.
