Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work 36/36 schedule with rotating weekends • No call responsibilities required • Floating required between PCU and Medical/Surgical units • Must be competent in both Med/Surg and PCU nursing • Hybrid unit with PCU ratio of 1:5 and MS ratio of 1:7 • Patient ratios of 7:1 for days, nights, and weekends • Care for adult and geriatric patient populations • Work with 33 daily census and 35-bed unit • Must have 1 year of nursing experience • Accepts first-time travelers • Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS • Must be proficient in Epic charting system • Trauma Level I experience preferred • Skills required include MS/Tele, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, CVA care, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury care, traumatic brain injury care, wound care, and oxygen administration • 24 hours of orientation with 16 hours non-billable • Expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education • Must live 100 miles from facility • Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only • General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBLs • Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty if census decreases Facility: This medical center operates a hybrid Progressive Care Unit and Medical/Surgical unit that provides comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients.
