Details Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a hospital setting Patient diagnoses include migraines, seizures, chest pain, spinal abscesses, MS, upper respiratory infections, and more Specialized procedures include post-spinal surgery and post-stroke care Average daily census of 29 patients Patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15 Every other weekend required (4 weekends per 13-week contract) Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned EMR: Epic (experience required) Requirements Active Louisiana or Compact RN license required Required certifications: BLS (AHA) Preferred certifications: ACLS (AHA) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Epic EMR experience required Must be able and willing to act as charge nurse when assigned Must reside 65 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though charge nurse roles are reserved for experienced travelers By accepting an assignment, candidates agree to participate in the facility's Emergency Team if an emergency event occurs, which may require staying on-site or serving on a relief team — candidates uncomfortable with this expectation should not apply A charge nurse differential of $2/hr applies when acting in a charge capacity All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) RTO requests must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process 13-week contract American Traveler Job ID P-685824.
