Details Work in a PCU/Oncology unit within a hospital setting Adult and geriatric patient population with medical/surgical diagnoses requiring telemetry and chemotherapy Average census of 8 patients with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio Unit capacity of 8 beds Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM Every other weekend required Float to Med/Surg required Requirements Active CA RN license required Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), TNCC or TCAR, NIH Stroke Scale, and Chemo Certification Telemetry experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Oncology nursing experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring Experience with central line care and management, PICC line management, and port access Experience with blood product administration, PCA, and heparin protocols Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (non-titrating) Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure patients Skills in peripheral and central IV line care, feeding tube care, and starting IVs Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration Additional Information Provide telemetry and oncology nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, including chemotherapy administration and monitoring Responsibilities include managing patients with renal failure, cardiac and vasoactive drips, PCA, and heparin protocols All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-685799.
