Job Details Location: Wichita Falls, TX (76301) — travel nursing jobs in Texas, Wichita Falls healthcare jobs Estimated Weekly Pay: $1820–$1910 Role: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse / Telemetry RN (Travel) Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026) Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00) Schedule: Alternating 36/48 hour biweekly schedule (84 hours biweekly with 72 hour guarantee) Employment Type: Travel, On-site clinical nursing Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics (progressive care, med-surg, telemetry) Orientation: 36 hours Weekend Coverage: Required as needed (may include most weekends during contract) Qualifications / Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, telemetry, or progressive care RN experience required Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (license in-hand required before start) Travel nursing experience strongly preferred (travel nurse, travel RN experience) Epic electronic charting experience strongly preferred (Epic experience) Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (submit documentation prior to start) Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) Ability and willingness to float between Med-Surg and PCU units Previous charge nurse experience preferred Comfort managing patient ratios of approximately 5–6 patients per nurse (days/nights) Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit and Med-Surg settings Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmias, and post-cardiac procedure care (Telemetry RN) Administer medications and blood products; manage IVs, central lines, and PICC lines Care for patients with complex medical diagnoses including renal failure, CVA/stroke, traumatic brain injury, and withdrawal management Perform wound care, tracheostomy management, and manage surgical drains and chest tubes Participate in rapid response and code teams to ensure patient safety Document accurately using Epic charting and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Social Services, and Pharmacy Why Join This Travel Nursing Opportunity Gain progressive care and telemetry experience while exploring Wichita Falls, Texas Work with a collaborative clinical team dedicated to patient safety and professional growth Ideal for PCU RNs, Telemetry RNs, and Med-Surg RNs seeking travel nursing jobs in Texas Experience the best of Wichita Falls while making a difference in patient care.
