Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PACU Job Details: • 2 years of experience preferred with all surgeries except cardiac procedures • Experience with pediatric patients required and critical care experience strongly preferred • Must help with coverage in Pre-Op area • Level II trauma experience preferred • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH • Call required 6-8 days per month (varies) with self-scheduling • Minimum of 1 weekend shift per contract required • Patient ratio of 2:1 during day shifts • Must have experience recovering patients from ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental (adults and pediatrics), GYN, and pediatric ENT procedures • Experience required with monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines • Must work with all age groups from 8 months old to 100 years • Heavy volume of orthopedic, general surgery, GYN, neurosurgery, and urology cases • Strong pediatric experience required for ENT, dental, and orthopedic procedures • Must orient to Pre-Op Holding as nurses float between PACU and Pre-Op when needed • Cerner charting system experience preferred • Travel experience required • Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions allowed • On-site drug screening required • Documents due 3 business days prior to start date Facility: This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive PACU with 21 beds and serves a daily census of approximately 30 patients. The facility performs all surgical procedures except cardiac surgery and provides care for patients of all ages. The PACU is connected to Pre-Op Holding, allowing nurses to float between units as needed. The facility offers Level II trauma services and maintains interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
