Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/24/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 5x8hrs Hours: 40 hrs/wk Start Date: Mar 24, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - PACU for a 13-week travel contract at a Level I trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Phase 1 PACU experience and AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Details Work in the PACU (Phase 1) of a Level I trauma center, providing care to a high-complexity post-operative patient population Day shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts (0830–1700) 40 hours per week On-call requirement of one day per week, plus every 5th weekend (Saturday and Sunday together) Requirements Active RN license (compact or Oklahoma state license), no pending licenses accepted Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS CPAN, TNCC, and CCRN are highly desirable Minimum 2 years of recent Phase 1 PACU experience in a hospital setting required; surgical center experience does not qualify Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required BSN is highly desired Must possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently US Social Security Number required Date of birth required for consideration Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer Additional Information Monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness and recovery from anesthesia, providing updates to the medical team as needed Obtain and record vital signs; observe patients for anesthesia-related side effects Administer medications to treat post-operative pain, nausea, and other symptoms as prescribed Maintain accurate charting and medical records in the EMR Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify; no local candidates accepted Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position American Traveler Job ID P-680645.
