Job Description & Requirements Specialty: OR - Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/06/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 5x8hrs Hours: 40 hrs/wk Start Date: Apr 6, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a critical access hospital setting requiring scrub proficiency across multiple surgical specialties and a MO or compact RN license. Details Small critical access hospital OR setting Handles approximately 100 cases per month, including C-sections (1–2/month); low acuity overall Surgical specialties include endoscopic, general surgery, gynecology (including C-sections), orthopedic (arthroscopic), podiatry, urology, pediatric ENT, pediatric endoscopic (EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy), and pediatric general surgery (appendectomy) Candidate must be proficient in scrub role across all required specialties Floating required across OR, PACU, and Pre/Post-Op — candidate will not be stationed in the same area at all times Primary schedule is 5x8s, 7:00–15:30, with potential flex to 4x10s depending on OR schedule Weekend coverage required approximately once every 3 weeks (Friday–Sunday) Call required approximately 10 shifts per month (assigned in pairs of 2), with a minimum callback window of 1 hour EMR: Meditech 13-week contract Requirements Active MO or compact RN license currently in hand Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS CNOR certification preferred Minimum 3 years of RN experience required — no exceptions Experience required in all of the following areas: OR, circulating, PACU, and Pre/Post-Op Proficiency in scrub role for endoscopic, general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic, podiatry, and urology procedures required Pediatric surgical experience required: ENT (tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy), endoscopic (EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopy), and general surgery (appendectomy) Experience with emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy management, and malignant hyperthermia required Equipment experience required: electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Steris Clinical skills required: administration of blood/blood products, cardiac monitoring, conscious sedation monitoring, infection control, specimen handling/labeling, peripheral IV insertion, Universal Protocol (time-out), urinary bladder catheterization, and wound management ENT experience (tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy) preferred Two professional references required for consideration PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration Additional Information Scrub role is required for this position — candidates must be ready to scrub immediately upon starting Unit scrub color is blue Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate; no radius restriction applies First-time travelers are welcome to apply Facility housing is available American Traveler Job ID P-684157.
