Seeking a perioperative/surgical nurse with OR experience to support high-acuity cases and provide excellent patient care. Job Details Location: Charleston, SC 29425 (Charleston, South Carolina travel nursing) Position Type: Travel Nurse – Operating Room / Perioperative Nurse / Surgical RN Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026) Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) Hours per Week: 36 On-call: Up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks Weekend Requirement: Up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks Holiday Requirement: Required to work at least one holiday period Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital Charting: EPIC (EPIC experience preferred) Parking: Convenient garage parking available for a small registration fee Compensation: Estimated weekly salary range: $1,640–$1,730. Competitive travel nurse pay and benefits (details provided during recruitment) Job Requirements At least 1 year of Operating Room RN experience (2 years strongly preferred); perioperative/surgical RN experience highly valued Valid South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license (must be active prior to start) BLS certification required Radiation badge (provided by agency) Scrub experience strongly preferred Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs (float between OR subspecialties or like units) Experience in Level I trauma setting preferred (trauma OR experience) Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) Responsibilities Circulate and scrub for a broad range of surgical procedures across trauma, transplant, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, GU-GYN, robotics, and pediatrics Provide perioperative nursing care, maintain sterile technique, and support surgical teams as a surgical RN/OR RN Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Registered Nurses and Certified Surgical Technologists Maintain patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Participate in on-call rotations and weekend/holiday coverage as required Float between like units or sister facilities as needed to meet staffing needs Utilize EPIC for accurate documentation and handoffs Adhere to facility policies, including emergency response protocols during hurricane season Why Charleston?
