Details Work is performed in a 21-suite Main Operating Room within a Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching hospital, and Magnet-designated facility with 820 staffed beds Surgical specialties covered include Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics RNs are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures Nursing team is comprised of approximately 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM) Up to 2 on-call shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, Saturday or Sunday) required per month Up to one working weekend shift every 4 weeks is required Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including to like units or sister facilities, may be required Charting is performed in Epic Requirements Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered Current AHA certifications required: BLS Radiation badge required (provided by agency) Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience strongly preferred Level I Trauma Center experience required Scrub experience strongly preferred SSN and Driver's License required for consideration 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration Additional Information RNs are responsible for scrubbing and circulating across a wide range of surgical specialties in a high-volume, fast-paced OR environment The Main OR is a nurse-driven, Magnet-designated department utilizing cutting-edge surgical technology Online modules must be completed prior to start date Scrubs are provided by the facility At least one holiday period must be worked — either Christmas (Dec 24–26) or New Year's (Dec 31–Jan 1) All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs First-time travelers are accepted for this position depending on qualifications Candidates who have previously worked as permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible Non-local candidates are prioritized; local candidates (within 60 miles) are considered on a case-by-case basis During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September American Traveler Job ID P-683276.
