Job Details Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Central Columbus, easy access to parks, universities, dining, and cultural amenities Unit: 17 East and West – Medical Oncology & Benign Hematology Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel RN / Travel Nurse) Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 04/20/2026 – End: 08/10/2026) Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 Orientation: 72 hours: first week Mon–Fri dayshift, second week 36 hrs on-unit with preceptor Patient Age Groups: Adults & Geriatrics Charting System: EPIC (electronic charting experience required) Floating: Required to other Med/Surg Oncology units Self-Scheduling: Enter schedule requests prior to final posting Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience (experience must fall within last 3 years; at least 1 year current specialty experience) Current RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred) Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Experience with EPIC and computerized charting Ability to interpret and monitor telemetry (telemetry nurse experience) 2 professional references (minimum 1 from manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN may serve as second reference) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Previous travel nurse experience preferred ONS Chemo certification preferred (Oncology Nursing Society) Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with solid tumor cancers across diagnosis, active treatment, and end-of-life care Administer antineoplastic chemotherapy safely and according to policy; monitor and manage treatment-related side effects Manage med/surg issues common to oncology patients, including infection prevention and fall risk mitigation Interpret and monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias Access and manage ports, administer blood products, start/maintain IVs, perform central line blood draws, and provide tracheostomy care Follow isolation precautions and appropriate PPE protocols Use specialized equipment including GE telemetry systems, Alaris infusion pumps, bladder scanner, and Stryker beds Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary Float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed to support patient care and unit staffing This role is ideal for Med/Surg Telemetry Nurses, Oncology RNs, and Travel Nurses seeking Columbus, Ohio nursing jobs with EPIC experience and chemotherapy administration skills.
