Job Details Location: Columbus, Ohio (Zip: 43210) Position: Travel Med/Surg Telemetry RN / Registered Nurse Unit: 19 James Med Surg Oncology Contract Duration: 16 weeks (April 20, 2026 – August 10, 2026) Shift: Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 Patient Ratio: 1:4 Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nursing Compensation Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940 - $2040 per week Required Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license: Ohio state RN or Compact RN required at time of submission Minimum 2 years recent RN experience, with at least 1 year in current specialty (Med/Surg/Telemetry/Oncology preferred) BLS (Basic Life Support) certification EPIC charting experience required Graduated from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Ability to float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed Two professional references (one from manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable as second reference) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Oncology experience preferred but not required; previous travel nursing experience preferred Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology patients on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit Monitor continuous cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and implanted ports Administer blood products and chemotherapy if credentialed and qualified Start and maintain IVs; assist with chest tube insertion/removal as needed Utilize specialized equipment including B450 monitors, GE telemetry system, bladder scanner, Alaris infusion pumps, and Stryker beds Manage symptom relief, comorbidities, infection prevention, and fall prevention protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed Why this Travel RN role: Work in a reputable Columbus healthcare facility with complex oncology cases, gain telemetry and oncology experience, and enjoy living in a vibrant 43210 neighborhood near downtown attractions and parks.
