This specialized unit treats patients presenting with co-occurring mental health disorders and substance use disorders. Working the night shift, you will provide critical stabilization, monitor detoxification protocols, and manage behavioral emergencies in an acute inpatient setting. The facility is currently transitioning its electronic health records from MediTech to Epic , making recent Epic proficiency a primary requirement for this role. Key Responsibilities Dual Diagnosis Management: Provide integrated care for patients struggling with both acute psychiatric crises (e.g., psychosis, mood disorders) and chemical dependency. Withdrawal Monitoring: Utilize standardized tools to assess and manage withdrawal symptoms, ensuring patient safety during the detox process. Crisis Intervention: Lead de-escalation efforts using CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) techniques to manage aggressive or self-harming behaviors while maintaining a therapeutic environment. Medication Administration: Administer psychotropic medications and MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) while monitoring for therapeutic efficacy and side effects. Milieu Management: Maintain unit safety and structure during the night shift, conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments. Documentation: Transition seamlessly into the Epic EMR system to document patient progress, interventions, and care plans. Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Minimum 3 years of acute inpatient behavioral health experience. EMR Proficiency: Hard Requirement: Must have recent Epic experience . (The hospital is currently transitioning from MediTech). Certifications: * BLS (AHA) – Required. CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Required. Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. Licensure: Active Connecticut (CT) RN License . Travel Status: No Local Candidates. Permanent address must be outside the local radius.
