Job Details Location: Holyoke, MA 01040 (Pioneer Valley, Massachusetts) Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Division (Adult, Pediatric, Geriatric Units) Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel RN Start Date: March 23, 2026 End Date: June 22, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12-hour days) Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed) Schedule: Every other weekend required; no block schedule Call Requirements: None Electronic Health Record: Cerner Scrub Color: Blue Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800–$1,890/week Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts Minimum 1 year of experience in inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health nursing (Psychiatric RN, mental health RN) Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate, Diploma, or BSN) BLS certification (required) ACLS certification (preferred) Comfortable floating between adult, pediatric, and geriatric behavioral health units Strong communication, teamwork, and de-escalation skills for psychiatric settings Experience with Cerner EHR and accurate clinical documentation preferred Responsibilities Provide direct and indirect patient care through psychiatric assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation Develop individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams Perform mental health and suicide risk assessments and communicate changes in clinical status to physicians and supervisors Implement behavioral interventions and maintain patient safety consistent with facility policies Participate in discharge planning and care transitions for psychiatric patients Care for a diverse patient population including adults, children (ages 5–17), and geriatric patients Document care accurately using Cerner EHR and ensure compliance with regulatory standards Experience the charm of Holyoke, MA—known for its parks, historic architecture, and welcoming community in the Pioneer Valley.
