Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/13/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $ 0.00 Opportunity: RN - Admin Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • 6-week scheduling cycle with every other weekend rotation required • Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays • Maintain 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in Pediatric ICU/PCICU • Care for patients with respiratory conditions, congenital heart disease, hematology/oncology, post-operative, and trauma cases • Float to NICU and General Pediatrics as needed • 2 years minimum nursing experience required • First-time travelers accepted • Required certifications: Illinois Nursing License, BLS, PALS (NRP preferred) • Complete NEO orientation plus 2 days departmental orientation in PICU/PCICU • Work with technology including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Medtronic monitors • Navy scrubs required • Free parking provided • No on-call responsibilities Facility: This pediatric healthcare facility is a 300-bed teaching hospital with trauma designation and specialized centers for chest pain and stroke care. The Pediatric ICU/PCICU unit features 19-23 beds with an average daily census of 15-18 patients. The facility provides comprehensive pediatric intensive care services with 24/7 support including respiratory therapy, hospitalist coverage, and intensivist services. The unit maintains a teamwork-oriented culture and offers extensive support services including IV/VAT team, phlebotomy, charge nurses, and CNA assistance for patient care and room preparation.
