This role is ideal for an experienced RN who thrives in a high-monitoring environment, primarily managing patients transitioning from intensive care or recovering from complex cardiac and vascular interventions. You will handle a 1:4–5 ratio, focusing on hemodynamic stability, advanced respiratory support, and acute post-procedural recovery. Key Responsibilities Post-Cardiac Cath Care: Manage patients following heart catheterizations, including the use of TR Bands for radial artery compression. Advanced Cardiac Monitoring: Perform continuous dysrhythmia interpretation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Respiratory Support: Manage patients in respiratory failure using BiPAP, CPAP, and Vapotherm (High-Flow Oxygen Therapy). Vascular Recovery: Conduct frequent vital signs and neurovascular checks for patients post-vascular surgery to ensure distal perfusion. Neurological Management: Provide acute care for CVA (Stroke) patients, utilizing NIHSS protocols for ongoing assessment. Procedures: Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and provide monitoring during procedural sedation. Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown/PCU experience. Licensure: Active New York (NY) RN License . Certifications: BLS & ACLS (AHA) NIHSS (Stroke Certification) Technical Skills: Proficiency in 12-lead EKG interpretation, PICC line management, and blood product administration. EMR: Required experience with Allscripts or Paragon (training provided). Unit & Facility Details Unit: 6024 - CCST (9 Rooms / 9 Beds). Daily Census: 9 (High-acuity unit typically at full capacity). Patient Ratio: 1:4 – 1:5. Support: Interdisciplinary access to Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Rapid Response Teams. Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (EOW) requirement.
